mothergooseof4
We took a couple of weeks off for Christmas and I just can't get back at it. All I want to do is sit on the couch and watch movies or perhaps do some projects around the house or crochet or..........you get the picture! Now I remember why I am a curriculum hopper..... I get bored and researching and using new stuff keeps ME interested in teaching. But I know that hasn't been the best thing for my kids so I have stuck with what is working this year. But the new has worn off for me and I am bored. I have been at this for eleven years so I know it is a season and will get better. Just wanted to whine a minute. Now on to read about Galen with the kids then build a paper tooth.
3browneyedboys4me
Lol- are we related?! :D I hear ya sister! I just threw my hands up last week and bought all new curriculum. I was tired of the work load ON ME. I just needed a break. No more building, creating, discussing school work. I just wanted them to get it done. I have a two year old now and just couldn't seem to find enthusiasm after a ton of interruptions. So, I just switched to something that would keep our school on auto pilot for the year. I don't feel guilty at all. It's exhausting some times. I was also wanting to watch movies, sleep late, organize, and I am also a knitter! So, I can completely relate to where you are coming from. I don't know the solution for your situation, but I'll give you a big :grouphug: and tell you it's ok to go sit and watch a movie with some :lurk5: if you want!! I get it! :tongue_smilie: Hope you figure out something that works for you!!!!
Bluegoat
Me too. It doesn't help that we all have had this cold hanging on since Christmas. It's now turned into a hacking cough for me which is totally exhausting. Dd7 has put herself to bed today which means she really feels unwell. I am starting to get a bit worried about getting significantly behind where i want to be.
Elizabeth in MN
I have fits of getting stuff done. Right now the will is there but my body is rioting (I have Fibromyalgia).
ElizaG
Same here. Our new baby was born a few weeks before Christmas, then just as I was getting some energy back, we got hit with a nasty cold. Back in November, I foresaw this happening, so I bought a fun all-in-one curriculum to use after the break. And now I can't remember where I put it. This pretty much sums up my existence right now. :tongue_smilie: :grouphug: to everyone. Hope things pick up soon.
KidsHappen
I have been there since 2007. Granted there have been extenuating circumstances but I am so tired of this and ready to move on with my life.

I hate switching things so late in the year. BUT things just aren't working like I wish they were with her and I need to be on auto pilot too. ElizaG
Not long after posting, I got in gear, went through a pile of "to be dealt with later" boxes, and found the curriculum. :):):) The power of solidarity? Thing is, of course, we still have to do it. Much as I'd like to just put the books on their heads and have them learn by osmosis, while I play a fruit matching game on the DS. Oops, did I say that? I meant, study medieval philosophy while learning three Oriental languages. Yeah, that's it. ;) I think it's time for hot chocolate.
suppleasthewind
I feel very sluggish. We are doing a lot of field trips this week! Today we watched a video (Liberty Kids), listened to book on tape in the car (Wind in the Willows) and hung out at the Aquarium for a couple areas. I think it was a good day. edelweiss
I felt like that last year. Honestly, I probably would have dragged this year too if we didn't have a vacation planned for February (we leave on Thursday). The coming vacation forced me to get back to business quickly after Christmas. I think I'm just going to have to schedule a vacation every February.
