trlt
My son just moved in with me and is in 9th grade. He goes to PS and was never taught cursive. He would like to learn but I don't know where to start. What is a good workbook to teach cursive for a 9th grader? Any ideas?
Kareni
There are several old threads on this board that were tagged 'handwriting'. Perhaps some of these might be useful (or handy ... pun intended) for suggestions. Regards, Kareni
KathyBC
Handwriting Without Tears Can-Do Cursive (gr. 5+) might be a good fit.
Trilliums
My 8th grader used Getty and Dubay Italics (he started with book E). This was very easy transition to cursive and I find it attractive as well. The book does not have a overly young child feel. Most notably though, it actually changed the way DS writes! http://www.amazon.com/Italic-Handwriting-Book-Barbara-Getty/dp/0964921588/ref=sr_1_6?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1327946919&sr=1-6 Penny Gardner has a downloadable italics program as well. There were a few things about the Gardner program I didn't like, but I cannot remember exactly what. If you find her book on Amazon, you can see samples more easily than from her website. http://www.amazon.com/Italics-Beautiful-Handwriting-Penny-Gardner/dp/1576361500 good luck!
