Angela Beshears
I need something new to keep my ds busy so I can work with my older dd! My son is only 2.5 but is obsessed with tracing and writing letters. He recognizes all the letters, uppercase and lowercase, can put them in order and knows theirs sounds. I've started teaching him to sound out small words like cat and sit and dad, so on, and I know he would love a workbook or printable pages where he could trace the actual word, and it would be great if there was a picture of it next to it- like cat in large letters with a picture of cat. He probably won't color it, but it would help him to know what word it is talking about. Does anyone know of something like this? Maybe as part of a phonics program or even just a coloring book? The letters don't have to be huge, he can trace pretty small letters, but a size of 1.5 inches or so would be nice.
SewingMom2many
Here are a few I use: http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/handwriting_practice.htm http://www.dltk-teach.com/alphabuddies/trace.htm http://www.abcteach.com <-- there are some free things here but if you subscribe (HSBC has it half price sometimes) you can make your own worksheets with a picture and word just like you are talking about
Karen in CO
Kumon has me great workbooks for tracing words. They also have some good scissor books and other things geared toward the early tag-along years.
