love2read
Just a few pounds, not a roast or turkey. I read blog posts that say "took the meat out the night before" and am wondering how it thaws so quickly because it usually takes 2 days in my fridge and I've checked the temperature on the fridge. Even with the old fridge it took a few days. Is this standard and people are leaving it on the counter for awhile and just not mentioning that? chicagoshannon
A pound of ground beef usually takes about 48 hours to completely thaw. But I can cook it up for tacos or whatever if need be after 24 hours.
love2read
Wendy, So you put it out right before you go to bed and in---say 7 or 8 hours it's thawed and still cold? I should test that and see how long it takes to thaw on my counter.
Bootsie
It usually takes about 48 hours in my refrigerator, also, depending on how it is packaged.

Cinder
Generally it takes a couple of days for meat to thaw in my fridge. If I need it sooner I put it in a sinkful of cold water to thaw.
HiddenJewel
Definitely takes more than a day in my fridge.
