jeri
She is applying to an IB program at the local public school and due to VA state laws, she has to have this course before she can start 10th grade in the fall. The only choice offered here is a one-month concentrated (7 hours a day) online course through the county at $700. Any other ideas about where to get this credit? I suppose I could have her do a course developed by me, but I am not a liberal arts type person and don't feel up to grading essays and writing tests. Ideas? Thanks. HollyDay
are you looking for a "boxed" curriculum. AOP LifePac has a World History program for 10th grade. It is not heavy or overly involved but it will get the job done.
ks-sunflower
I think K12 offers summer world history- since they are based in Virginia, they might offer exactly the class you need - the program is on-line but a teacher grades all the work. Here is a link to last year's summer schedule: http://www.k12.com/courses/summer-school-courses/
LBS
Virginia has great community colleges, and it appears that the two semesters of World History are offered as distance learning, starting in a couple weeks, so maybe you could start one semester now, and the second in the summer? ....my middle child was an IB student, great program...good luck! jeri
LBS I did look at the VACC catalog and unfortunately it started already. I wonder if she could get away with just that over the summer though? I will call the school. AOP and K12 are other good ideas! Thank you! jeri
