Ohdanigirl
that use socratic method? Does anyone know of any? I think the classes I learned the most in during college were the ones taught this way. I am coming to realize that my oldest seems to as well. Thanks. 8filltheheart
Great Book Academy's Socratic discussions online. :) My 20 yos enrolled with them in 9th grade. THe discussions were wonderful (the feedback on writing assignments was dismal though and the main reason I haven't used them since. They are too expensive for us for me not to be 100% happy w/all aspects of the program.) Of course that was.....what?? 6 yrs ago? They may have improved. 8filltheheart
http://www.greatbooksacademy.org/great-books-program/great-books-readings/ I would say more along the lines of the Great Books lit classes (though you can't really separate history out)

Laura in CA
Adam Andrews and his wife (Teaching the Classics) now offer live online classes using the Socratic method to discuss classic literature. Highly recommended. The times will be a bit late for folks on the East Coast, though ... ~Laura
