profmom
This school year has been much more time-consuming than I anticipated (7th grade ds -- need I say more?) I'm having a tough time studying Greek (Greek II with a class) and keeping up with classic fiction for my book club. I first thought I should drop book club and continue the Greek class second semester, but I'm having second thoughts. I don't read fiction for myself unless I'm in the club, and I'm starting to think reading and discussing classic books is more important. What do you think? Will you help me decide? Ester Maria
My choice would depend on what you are reading in your classic literature club and how you are finding it. Principally, I guess, I would attempt to "save" Greek and "finish" what I had started - it is typically easier to take up again literature studies which you have neglected for a while than to take up again language studies left "in the middle". In The Great White North
:iagree: And I suspect studying Greek has more of an effect on stopping the "brain drain" that seems to happen with dc and aging.
Tress
Keep going with the Greek! I had three hyperemesis pregnancies the last few years and that made my Latin study look like.... start...stop...review...start...stop...REVIEW...start....stop....REVIEW....start. Really, it is a major :banghead: to have to review so much before you can study again.

Candid
I'll be contrary and suggest you do what you want. It's your life, I doubt either of these we do anything practical for you beyond expand your horizons. So unless you plan to teach Greek or literature, pick the one you want to continue. Don't hesitate to include things like how much time you have. I find while I spend less time teaching my children as they age, I spend more time getting them places, etc.
