HeidiKC
We're doing LL7, and next up is this book. I'm reading it (for the second time, first when I was a teen) and LOVE it. But I can't help but wonder if a 12yo is really going to appreciate and enjoy this book. Ds12 is a very strong reader, but even I don't understand much of the vocabulary: old British veterinary terms, slang, and Yorkshire colloquialisms. Also some situations or humor that I just don't think he'll get. I don't think he'll necessarily dislike it, but wonder whether it would just be more appropriate for and appreciated by older teens. I'd love to hear what your dc's experiences have been. Thanks!

Down_the_Rabbit_Hole
We loved it and we watched all the episodes too. My son was 14 when he read it, but I think a 12 yr old could handle it. It is long though. One option I was considering was my ds listen to the audio book version. There is cursing in it, nothing too bad though.
