If I ever win the lottery...

So sorry.

Do you have fleece pants to wear int he house?

Do you have warm socks and slippers?

I do have warm socks and slippers. No fleece pants though, but I wear a fleece pullover or a long cardigan a lot.

Dh gave me wicked good slippers for Christmas. Those are amazing. I need matching mittens, though I admit that will make it hard to get dinner on.

We heat our house with wood primarily. It is an external wood-burning furnace. It saves a ton of money, but it doesn't provide truly cozy heat. We set it at 68, but if it's below freezing outside, it doesn't quite keep up.

I'm turning up the bloody heat in this house. :glare: I'm an ectomorph, people. My fingers are blue.

What is your heat set on? If no one else is cold - get your thyroid checked. Low thyroid will make you freeze from the inside out lol.

Layers are your friend...

Definately - my winter outfit is sweatpants covered by a larger pair of sweatpants, a thin long sleeve t-shirt covered by a sweatshirt covered by a fleece coat. Plus regular socks covered by fleece socks. But I have thyroid issues where I'm always freezing - it has to be close to 80 before I thaw out even a little

Hmmm. You might have something there. Our heat is typically set to 68, but sometimes it can't keep up and may be 65 or so.

This is what we eventually want. A wood boiler for the central heat and then a pellet stove for cozy.

Then again......a better solution......move SOUTH! ;)

It's not far from my thoughts by January every year. :D

I decided a long time ago that life is too short to be cold all the time! I keep our house comfortable; we'll save money in the summer by keeping the air off and the windows open.

Life will be shorter if I can't afford the electric bill. ;) I do appreciate the thought, though.
