Stellalarella
Can anyone tell me what the solutions manual for Foerster Algebra looks like? Amazon has a used solutions manual, but the author is not Foerster and I don't want to order the wrong thing. I know that Foerster Algebra 1 is now sold under Prentice Hall classics. Thanks for your help.
yinne
That does not look like the correct book. The isbn # should be 0201861003 and the book is dark blue. Here is the page from Pearson -- http://pearsonschool.com/index.cfm?locator=PSZu6e&PMDBSUBCATEGORYID=&PMDBSITEID=2781&PMDBSUBSOLUTIONID=&PMDBSOLUTIONID=6724&PMDBSUBJECTAREAID=&PMDBCATEGORYID=806&PMDbProgramID=21022 The solutions manual is the last one listed, no picture though. AmericanMom
I agree, I don't think that is the right book. I don't know what the solutions manual looks like but that doesn't look right. I have the teacher's guide and it looks exactly like the student book. I bought it used from someone here. Did you search here?
Stellalarella
Thank you for the help. I posted on the WTB board, but haven't found a solutions manual yet. We're in Chapter 6 and it would be really nice to have solutions for the chapter tests and cumulative reviews.
yinne
There are used copies on some of the used book sites, but they are more expensive then just buying new from the publisher. I know I bought my copy direct from the publisher. I had to set up an account and verify that I was indeed a homeschooling parent, but after that I didn't have any problems buying from Pearson. amtmcm
Have you checked Abe Books? Here's one posted with the isbn from the previous poster: http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?isbn=0201861003&sts=t&x=0&y=0 This website says they have it, but there's no picture so it's hard to know if it's the right one? Maybe ask them for the isbn? http://www.bywayofthefamily.com/Foerster-Algebra-1-Solutions-Manual/productinfo/861003/

I was a bit annoyed that I ended up having to pay (quite a bit) more for the SM than the actual text, but I'm glad I have it.
Stellalarella
$85 is pretty steep. I'll try to go through the publisher. Thank you all for the help.
pgr
I know this is an oooold thread, but I can't find a solutions manual in stock anywhere. Yikes! I just bought the Classics Edition (2006) of Foerster's Algebra 1 for my DS. Any idea where to find a solutions manual? Almost all of the out of stock ones are published in 1995, and I have found a mention of one printed in 2006 only once: https://www.textbooks.com/Algebra-1-Classic-Edition-Solution-Key-3rd-Edition/9780201861006/FOERSTER.php Any ideas where I might find a solutions manual or teacher's text compatible with the Classics Edition student text? theelfqueen
Addall.com is a useful comparison. Shopping site for used books. You can even search by ISBN. They even include shipping costs in their searches.
A MOM IN GEORGIA
@pgr, I am in the exact same boat! I'm wondering what you wound up doing? Update: I actually found the solutions manual for only $20 at math without borders! I actually found a more recent thread on this topic haha, but since I posted here yesterday I came back to update this thread also. the solutions manual is included in the "ancillary materials" .pdf at mathwithoutborders. the download is here: https://mathwithoutborders.com/shop/algebra-1-ancillary-materials/. the solutions manual included is for the 3rd edition. I have purchased the "classics edition" from prentice hall which is isbn 0-13-165708-9 and as best I can tell it is a 100% perfect match. The classics edition I bought does not say (that I can find) which edition it is based on, but the picture on the cover is identical to the 3rd edition. I then double checked by randomly selecting sections/tests to look up, and even the page numbers were perfectly identified! Pretty nice. Edited January 22, 2022 by A MOM IN GEORGIA updated because I found the resource I was looking for.
