faiths13
Does anyone have a good link on how to turn a classic book into a unit study that includes LA, history and science? I am waiting on some books at the library to help, but I would really love other resources while Im waiting. Thanks!
AmericanMom
Have you ever seen Further Up and Further In or the Prairie Primer or the other one about Anne of Avondale (I forgot the name!)...that's pretty much what those are, and the samples online might help you some. One of my children is doing Further Up right now, and, for example, The Magician's Nephew has a sentence about an old photographs of someone and the corresponding science assignement is to research old photographs, when they were invented & by whom, why people didn't smile, etc. A geography assignement was to research India and why British men went to work in India during Victorian times (because the main character's father was absent due to working in India). Things like that. So just pulling things out of the text and using them to learn more about those things seems to be how it works. HTH.
