If you have a telephone number

Recommended Posts

is there a way to google what it goes to?

 You mean can you find a name if you only have a phone #?

Yes, you can by "Reverse Look-up."

I think if you google reverse look up, you pretty much get there.

This is one of the sites that offer this. Hopefully it is REALLY free.

Reverse look-up is helpful, but you can also just Google the phone number itself. Sometimes, if it is a business, telemarketer, or scam, information will come up in Google when the reverse look-up information is not available or less than helpful in figuring it out.

Oops! I tried calling the number and got a voice mail that I didn't recognize. So I filed a claim for fraudulent billing with the credit card company. Tonight I was playing with the reverse directory and couldn't find any that didn't charge, but I then googled the number directly (thanks, Paula!) and it was the science center. The voice mail must be someone who does their recruiting. Tomorrow I need to call the credit card co. back and tell them "Never mind, it isn't fraudulent after all!"

Jean,

I'm assuming it must be the same science center that we joined since I'm in WA too. When I saw that goofy name on our statement I kept asking dh if he knew who it could belong to. We also called the number and got that woman's voice mail. You would think their company name would come through or they would at least give you a head's up that your credit card statement will read "XYZ company" and not the science center. I was ready to file a fraudulent charge as well. Luckily dh remembered I had mentioned something about joining the science center so I checked my e-mail and saw the charge was for the same amount. Sheesh!

Exactly! Thank you for saying this because it really is weird without the science center listed on the charge or her voice mail.
