wy_kid_wrangler04
Where you are on a site that compares cost of housing to another city what is that based on? It says "the average cost of an area's housing which includes mortgage payments, apartment rents, and property tax" So my question is, are the mortgage payments based on new construction? Or do they average all mortgages out at the time of the update? Also is there a place where I can compare how much property tax is/would be for a house in our price range? prairiewindmomma
It depends on the website, but mostly they are compared to the average median home price in an area. Any chance you can just go to realtor.com and find a comparable home in the city you're looking at and call the agent there to ask about their property taxes? Some of the realtor.com listings include property tax information in the listing. I know we've looked at that when considering where to move. Carrie12345
While realtor.com sometimes publishes tax info, zillow.com almost always does, and it's been accurate to the dollar on the houses I have knowledge of (including my own, which isn't for sale).
