motherdear
but a real problem for ds(14). His stool comes out formed but "mushy" and sticky. He has Aspergers and his cleaning habits are ...lacking. He is very regular(I want to keep it that way) butI need to find something that will firm up his stool. Anyone? EKS
Flax seed or psyllium. Not necessarily at the same time. They don't firm up the stool exactly, just make for less of a clean up. Also more water might help. Edited January 5, 2012 by EKS
MamaSheep
Is it possible he has a food sensitivity? If so, eliminating the problem food could help.
Ottakee
For cleaning, have you tried the flushable (which you might not want to flush) moist wipes? Those really helped here when we were having "poopy troubles" as my girls then called it. The wipes got things a lot cleaner, easier. Mushy stools are actually normal and healthy, but are more difficult to clean than harder stools. The wipes help a lot. They are found in the section of the store with the toilet paper. Wipe with TP first to get the bulk off, then with wet wipes till they come away clean.
MamaSheep
The wipes helped a lot at our house too.

Laurie
Well, since you asked, here's something about stickiness: http://www.livestrong.com/article/326903-foods-to-avoid-if-your-stool-is-sticky/ (And I agree with MamaSheep that food sensitivities are a possibility.)
