We Choose Virtues?

Can someone please explain how to use this and what products are essential? I have seen the kits on their page but I can't figure out how all the pieces would be used together or what I would actually use with our family. I'm probably not going to hang up a bunch of posters, for instance, so I think I don't want a kit, but I don't know what I do want- and I do want something.

We love the program! We use the cards, which I laminated. I did get the sticker chart, but you could easily make your own much cheaper.

I introduced 2 virtues a week. Everday at breakfast we would go over the virtues we covered. The kids would repeat the "catch phrase" together and I would read the rest. We sometimes would make little somgs or hand motions up to memorize the catch phrase. With 6 weeks even the three year old had them all memorized. We used the chart to reward the kids' practicing the virtue. Now I use the virtues as the basis for other rewards program. For example, during Advent, the kids would earn paper links to add to the paper chain decorating the kitchen for Christmas. During Lent, they'll probably be rewarded jelly beans to be put in their Easter Basket. It's nice that we have a set group of virtues to work on that everyone knows and understands.

It's funny you posted this cause I was just looking at this last night. I think really you only need to ge the cards, or maybe even just the poster. I'd like the teacher's book. Anyone have it and use it? I suppoe the most important part are the virtues with the little saying that goes with them, but the having ideas and activities might be nice too? I'm bummed that I missed the 30% off for Black Friday last November!

I just bought these and we're getting ready to start using them. What we're going to do is just choose one virtue per week. We'll post the card on our Morning Board and go over it along with everything else. I also made copy work pages for dd to write both little sayings for each virtue (they have what it IS on one side and what it ISN'T on the other). I then searched the Internet for little coloring pages that exemplified th virtues (couldn't find one for every single virtue but did for most). And I'm going to look for some story books and stuff. And I was planning on some sort of reward when I catch her practicing the virtue. I'm still working on it all.

Actually, I wanted to ask about the verses as well - how many would you say are OT vs NT? Approximately? We're Jewish; trying to decided if we need the "faith-based" (our home is!) or "community" version... :-)

Out of the pack of 12, only 2 are from the NT.

Here is the specific breakdown:

Philippians-1

Romans-1

Psalms-4

Proverbs-4

Ecclesiastes-1

Job-1

HTH.

I just ordered this morning and came here to search! Funny! I ordered the faith-based parenting cards and the $5 teacher book download. Figured for $5, it would help give me a bit of direction. And "VIRTUE15" will get you a 15% discount!
