Forget-Me-Not
Yep. The national holiday is tomorrow since the holiday itself fell on a weekend. :D At least it is for the post office. Not 100% sure about banks, because they have rules about how many days in a row they can be closed.

Jean in Newcastle
Banks should be closed. They cannot be closed 3 days in a row but I'm pretty sure they were open on Saturday so they can be closed tomorrow.
Stayseeliz
I thought banks couldn't be closed MORE than 3 days in a row? That was the law when I worked as a teller in college.
Audrey
Probably. The banks and most stores are closed here tomorrow. The post is down, too.

SailorMom
What I don't understand.... It is technically a Federal Holiday - but our schools here went back today. Why in the world didn't they take the day off???
AngieW in Texas
Public school started today here too. We're waiting until tomorrow because my dh is off today, we've got a couple of appointments today, and the kids really want to watch the Tournament of Roses Parade. Why in the world didn't they take the day off??? Because the schools don't have to follow federal holidays. Nor do companies.

AuntieM
According to FEDERAL banking law, a FEDERAL bank may not close for business for four consecutive days. Not all banks are federal. Some are state, some are local.

I am a custodian and hubby is maintence supervisor and energy management supervisor. ETA: We do not work for our school district. We work for another district in the big city. Very few people know we homeschool. My dh's people knows as well as his boss. Nobody that I work with knows that I homeschool. Only my big boss knows. Sorry... for not being clear.
