Desert Rat
It goes back in the box on Friday. It's the longest I can wait. LOL
Tammyla
We will be taking our trees down this weekend. (I was ready yesterday, but it's more work than I want to take on myself.)
rieshy
As we speak. My mother taught me that oceans would crumble into the sea and the earth would cease rotating if the tree wasn't down before New Years. Mostly I just want to vacuum. thescrappyhomeschooler
I feel like taking it down, but my sister and her family are coming this weekend to celebrate Christmas/New Year's with us, so I'll leave it up until the 2nd or 3rd. Jennay
Usually until Jan. 6 (Epiphany/Theophany) but with a new kitten who keeps trying to eat the artificial needles and steal the ornaments the tree might come down earlier this year. I will keep the winter village, lighted Jesse tree garland with ornaments, and ceramic Nativiy set on the fireplace mantle out until the 6th. luvnlattes
New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. Whichever day is less busy.
TravelingChris
After January 6th. We cut this tree on Dec. 22 and put it in water within the hour. It will certainly last till then.
clarkacademy
It came down today. I used to put it up Christmas Eve then take it down Christmas night when I worked. Now it is up usually from the first until the 26th.

lailasmum
Tomorrow (28th), it's shedding needles really badly even though its been in water and I want the living room back to normal.
beezus
I usually take ours down New Year's Day. Maybe New Year's Eve this year, since it's a Saturday. I enjoy the lights, but I get tired of looking at the Christmas ornaments once Christmas Day is over.
jhschool
We put ours up after December 18th. We are looking forward to Three Kings Day on January 6th, so it has to be up. It will stay up until February 2nd. It is Candlemas Day. We will celebrate and it comes down hopefully the day after.
Virg
My birthday is the second week of January and my parents usually put all of my presents under the tree. It was taken down the day after my birthday. I have always followed that tradition. This year it will come down today or tomorrow though, it is dead. I am used to cutting down my own tree in OR the day after Thanksgiving and it has always lasted but we are in UT now. Apparently I need to figure out a different place to get my tree next year. dirty ethel rackham
Probably at the Epiphany. We put it up about a week before Christmas. I was bummed that I couldn't find any Christmas music on the radio. I guess they were all played out. I had been ignoring the radio because I didn't want Christmas song overload before the actual season began.
WarriorMama
Tonight. We decorate on the first of December and I'm TIRED OF IT! I like to start the new year with the house back in order, as well. Or as in order as it gets around here... HappyGrace
Always put it up a couple days after Thanksgiving, always take it down the 30th or 31st. LOVE to have it down and start the New Year fresh. It would drive me crazy to take it down after New Year! Once when I was a child though, my family left it up til Valentine's Day :)
Oak Knoll Mom
Epiphany. But it goes up on Christmas Eve. :iagree: Ours did go up in mid-December, but we didn't decorate the rest of the house until Christmas Eve.

If it is a Solstice tree instead of a Christmas tree, it might make sense to some to be done with it on the 23rd.

eternalknot
I don't put one up :) Some years the kids do, this year they didn't. They're Catholic, so they follow the customs of my in-laws; the tree goes up sometimes after the third week of advent and remains up through epiphany (or the weekend after). It's always a live tree, so that's about when it starts becoming a PITB to have around.
