UmMusa
Several years ago I read The Red Tent and I really liked it. Same with my mom. She's been looking for similar biblical/historical fiction. Can anyone recommend anything for her (more for her than for me) (she is Baptist by the way)
elise1mds
You/she might try reading books by Marek Halter.
RoughCollie
Lynn Austin and Francine Rivers write historical Christian fiction. I especially liked Francine Rivers' Mark of the Lion series (A Voice in the Wind, An Echo in the Darkness, and As Sure as the Dawn). Her Lineage of Grace series is about biblical women. If you scroll down to the Biblical Overtones and Characters section, there are several books listed that may appeal to you: http://www.wakefieldlibrary.org/authors/red-tent-readlalikes/ Also: http://www.bpl.lib.me.us/reference/Booklists_files/15AnitaDiamant.pdf http://dclibrary.us/eshelf-research/dcls-readers-page/readalikes/if-you-like-anita-diamant...html Edited December 27, 2011 by RoughCollie
Tohru
My MIL and I both enjoyed The Red Tent too. She also recommended People of the Book and I thought it was really good. For the biblical time period, I liked Hittite Warrior (from the Sonlight list.)
