Tracy Anderson Update--New Year's resolutions?

Recommended Posts

I thought I'd update on my experience with Tracy Anderson's 30 Day Method (see this thread http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=318369)

I started this in early November and completed it in early December. I thought I'd share my experience as there are so many people that choose to lose weight for their New Year's resolution.

I really liked this program. Pros:

--I lost 12 lbs and went down two sizes

--I thought it was very easy to follow

--It's quick

--I never really felt hungry

--Best chocolate pudding ever!!

Cons:

--It's time consuming. I spent about an hour in the mornings (mat work) and about an hour in the afternoons (aerobics) working out

--There were some days where I was very sore

--There were a couple of meals I wasn't crazy about; also somewhat expensive

I pretty much followed the plan by the book. I went off the diet for one day when I was out of state at a friend's house and one day for Thanksgiving. I allowed myself one glass of wine on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The last week there were a few days I didn't get both workouts in. Since I've completed the program, I've continued to eat pretty well. I've been doing similar breakfasts and lunches, and eating what I make for my family for dinner. (we eat pretty healthy) But I'm eating less than usual for sure. I also try to work out at least once every day, either mat or aerobics. I'm going to try different DVDs because I'm getting a bit bored with hers (although I did put on my iPod to follow along with her cause her music's dreadful). I've lost 3 more pounds and gone down one more size since I've finished. I do notice that although I've lost weight and inches, my body is somewhat flabbier than I'd like, so I'm looking for workouts that will tone me up now.

Overall I highly recommend this program.

Thanks for the info. I have a bunch of her mini work outs on pinterest. So far I have enjoyed them. How many inches did you loose over the course of the month? I'm not concerned with pounds as much....I just want inches to fall off! :)

Unfortunately I didn't measure inches, but I know I lost a lot in my midsection, thighs and butt. I was inching into a 10 before I started, and I'm now a comfortable 4...not sure if there's info on the web on what measurements of those sizes are?? For reference, I did another diet a few year's ago (mainly exercise and counting calories) and lost about the same amount of weight, but only went down to a size 8, so I definitely lost more inches via Tracy Anderson.

Good to know! I will check it out a bit more before I decide. January first I start saying goodbye to inches. :)
