Margaret in GA
I have two nieces I'd like to knit some mittens for with some worsted weight yarn I have lying around. Question 1: Do any of you have a pattern you'd like to share? I can knit with double pointed needles in the round, but have never knit with a circular needle. I've looked at ravelry and I'm overwhelmed  Question 2: One niece is 8 months old. Is this too old for mittens without thumbs? Thank you, oh wise Hive Margaret
annlaura
If you can use dpns, and the pattern calls for circular, just use the same size dpns. I think mittens without thumbs are appropriate for an 8mo baby. No help here with a pattern. I've used one by Ann Budd. If it's on ravelry, it's a good basic pattern. Maybe someone else will chime in.
BillieBoy
This is my goto free pattern website and I agree with the dp needles, just use the same size. I never use circular for something that small (baby mittens). Good luck. I'm still trying to finish two pairs of socks in...umm...2 days.
