Farrar
As far as I know, it's just one company that makes them, so it's really just a matter of getting one that fits your child's age. The 300 is the basic set, so I'd say start with that.
boscopup
I *think* my dad got DS1 the SC300R, but I'm not sure. It's in the black case like that, and it comes with a bunch of guides to use. When I was researching it, I read that you should get the most you could afford. I think that was good advice. My son LOVES Snap Circuits. He can play with them for hours! I like that they have the nice case, since they're easy to store and keep little hands from getting into them. ;)
Cindyz
We have this one waiting under the tree. I'm very excited to start playing with it. :D

He'll play with it constantly, then set it aside for a time. Then he realizes it's there again and gets it out again. He's had it for a couple of years. peacefully
Ds is 7, and he has both the 300-pc set and the deluxe Snap Rover set. Both have all the components for a good solid introduction to electronics, but the Snap Rover definitely has added play value.
Kathleen in LV
I had never heard of these until this thread, but they look really cool. I've put it on my Amazon wishlist until my son is just a little bit older. I love the amazing things people on here share. Thanks so much!! jer2911mom
My parents got my dd7 the radio one and my dad put it together with her. She absolutely loves it! It works really well! Kathy
NittanyJen
When you want to expand, you don't even have to buy the next kit up; they sell upgrade kits that contain just the parts you need to get up to the next level kit, plus a guide for the additional circuits to build-- saves a bit of money if you are building your collection slowly!
