dirty ethel rackham
Dd is sewing a pair of pajama pants for her friend as a Christmas gift. They both volunteer at the animal shelter. Although we work with dogs, her friend loves cats as well (she has 2.) So we chose this adorable kitty print. As dd tried on the pants, dh asked her why the kitties were upside down.:lol: Yep, she cut out the pattern with wrong side facing out, so she never noticed that she cut them upside down. Oh, well. Her friend will still love them!!
Tap
Why, of course she did it upside down. That way they are right side up for the wearer! Your dd is a genius to think of that, and the most thoughful seamstress!

OrganicAnn
They are upside down so they can have their tummy rubbed (works better with dog prints). :)
nukeswife
I've done that on many occasions.

Apparently, I'm definitely not cut out for Home Ec. :tongue_smilie:)

Joy at Home
Awe, those are the best kind of gifts:001_smile: Dd made her sister a Teddy bear for Christmas and sewed the head on sideways and one arm is so long it looks like a third leg. It's precious. Lisa
eternalknot
UPDATE: Her friend absolutely loves them. She thought the upside-down kitties were perfect because they look up at her when she looks down. So sweet! My husband's grandmother always made the bed with the pretty side of the sheets facing down; she said sort of the same thing, that now the pretty side was what the sleeper saw - especially with the top part folded over. She still makes it that way :)
Melissa in Australia
I remember my mother making me a dress when I was 3. it had little Holly Hobie dolls all over it, some panels of the dress had the dolls sideways, some up the right way and some upside down. I remember sitting on the floor at kindergarten fascinated with the layout of the dolls.
