nukeswife
I'm trying to revamp our chore system. My kids are pretty good at doing their basic stuff and receive and allowance that is not tied to those. They've recently asked if they can start doing extra chores to help me out (dh is deployed so this would be a big help to me) and earn a little extra money. I'm fine with this but I'm not sure how much each chores should be worth. The unpaid chores would be... Brush teeth cleaning their rooms making their beds and other basic person need type chores. I was thinking of paying for emptying dishwasher vacuuming picking up dog doo scooping cat box (these last 2 I don't expect them just to do, because getting the pets was all my idea, they would have been fine without them) doing a load of laundry (wash, dry and fold) dusting cleaning bathroom mirrors cleaning toilets mopping collecting trash taking trash and recycling to the curb on pick up day What would you pay for those chores listed above? If you do pay your kids per chore what's on the list and how much can they make? My kids are 12.5, 10 and 6.5 years old.
myfunnybunch
I pay 50 cents per chore. Unless it's something that I really really don't want to do, then it's a dollar. Cat
greenvneck
My two youngers do all of those chores every week for their allowance, which is $4 (10yo) and $3 (6yo). Well, we don't have a cat, but they do everything else in addition to some others. I must be getting a good deal on cheap labor!
