annlaura
I don't know about the kindle at all, but the nook kids offerings are fantastic.
Georgiana Daniels
The Nook Tablet has the better processor and a slot for an SD card to expand memory as the user collects more books and media. I'm LOVING mine. It goes with me everywhere.
DawnM
I am looking at both too. The draw to the Kindle for me is the free loan library through Amazon Prime! I love that they offer that and I am already a Prime member. Also, if you do audio books, and if you agree to a one year membership ($14.99/mo) they will give you $100 towards a Kindle. Right now I just use my iPad and the Kindle app. I don't get the lending library with just the app, but I have downloaded a lot of free books offered through Amazon. And Amazon often offers free apps that are normally $10-$15. There is a thread on it here. I don't get those either with the Kindle app on my iPad. Georgiana Daniels
You can do what's called "sideloading" with the Nook Tablet where you can get the Kindle app and the freebies, plus the Amazon apps. I'm using mine more like a tablet than an ereader, but haven't quite worked up the courage to root the device for maximum capability.
