Is there a science program like this out there...

My 5th grader is using Exploration Education. He is using the middle level. He loves it. The lesson is done on the computer (I think you can use the internet but we use the disc). It then takes you step by step through the experiment. The whole thing comes in a box and there is very little that you need to provide. The big thing is a low temp glue gun. I don't how the other levels compare.

I was going to say Supercharged Science too. I've tried the sample month; I just can't swing the cost. They have written info, lots of videos, and numerous experiments to choose from for each lesson. The lady who runs it is a scientist, AND she's pretty interesting in her videos too. She's of the mind that you show kids something neat, and then they'll say, "wow, how'd that work" and delve further into it. She says its for K and up, but I don't know how young we could really use the program.

Very cool program, but $37 a month.

I second (or third/fourth??) Exploration Education - we are doing it this semester and I really enjoy it!! Everything comes in the kit, including the DVDs for the lesson, a lab book for tracking answers/expirements, and the pieces to do the projects.

I really liked Supercharged Science, but I found the website hard to get around & there wasn't an inexpensive kit for doing everything. Instead you were supposed to go out and buy for the unit from a supply list (cost me $50 for 1 unit!! sheesh!) then use those to proceed through the unit. Except my 7yo kept wanting to jump around, so I never had the right stuff on hand. We did do some AWESOME projects, and I loved the videos! I also used a lot of the info & ideas as co-op science projects. When my son gets older & can do it more himself (I had to help a lot) and we can get a bit better organized to have supplies on hand, I will definitely try it again. I am hoping to save up the GOBS AND GOBS of money necessary to do the actual 1-5 year full program with DVDs, kits & extras.
