athomemom
I asked a question about R&S on the K-8 board, but I am not getting any response....We use Easy Grammar, but I am wondering if we need more in the grammar department. We have our writing covered with SL and Writing Strands. I have seen many posts saying that new folks to R&S should start with the 5th grade book? My boys looked the 5th grade book over today at our local homeschool bookstore and declared it too easy. (my guys are in 7th grade) If not R&S to add to our EG, what would you suggest? Ellie
I wouldn't do R&S just for the grammar. You could check out EPS's The Stewart English Program. Janet in WA really liked it.
Unicorn.
If you are only looking for grammar, look at Growing with Grammar. Comparable to R&S, but w/out the extra writing.

This program appears to have more writing than I need.

GWG does look good, but also looks very similar to EG.
athomemom
Enough? Maybe that is the question I should have asked.
angela in ohio
You should be fine starting in 6. I wouldn't start in 7 from EG, though.
athomemom
The 7th grade R&S book has tons of writing doesn't it?
milovany
Somewhat off topic, but sorta related -- if you choose to go with R&S, I have the 8th grade books for sale on the cheap on the For Sale boards. PM me if you're interested in them.
athomemom
Thanks! If I purchase a set I will need 7th grade.
