Help me come up with a school name using this

I have ZERO creativity. None. We are not required to name our school in our state, but I want to come up with something based on Joshua 1:9, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.â€

 

I know there's lots of options there, but I just can't seem to make something good out of it. Creative minds help, please? :bigear:

In the original Hebrew, "be strong and courageous" is "chazak ve'ematz." (pronounced "chah-ZOK veh-eh-MOTS" "chah" is pronounced with the guttural sound)

 

Chazak Academy?

 

That's the only thing I can think to do with it! :)

I'm not very creative, either, lol. The first time I filed an affidavit in California and I had to come up with a name, I was very traumatized. :lol:

 

What about Courage Academy?

 

My thoughts about school names: I don't believe a school name needs to encompass our whole belief system. I think it should be something that we could write on a high school diploma or a college application. I think it needs to be something that a 14yo boy could say without blushing.:)

Joshua means "God rescues" or "Yahweh is salvation." My suggestion is

Joshua Courage School.

 

My older sons' homeschool is named James Wisdom School, after this passage from James chapter 3:

 

"13Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

If you don't mind, what would the Hebrew be for 'learn to be strong and courageous?' Or what is the word for school, or being taught by parents?

How about some Latin?

Here's a translation I found, (I'm not familiar with the language and unsure if this is the correct meaning):

"FORTITUDO" or “AUDACIA” , ”ANIMUS”, if " strength " means "courage" as opposed to 'fear'.

Joshua is the name of my oldest DS, whoops, guess I forgot to mention that!:D I spent a crazy amount of time reading about school names last night after I posted this. The more I look at it and think about it, I'm starting to agree with Ellie about the school name. I'm kicking around some versions with Latin, Hebrew, or Greek. Maybe I'll just throw in the towel and go with "Unsocialized Heathens School of Learning"! :lol:
