MyLittleBears
I just finished the 3 sample weeks and absolutely love it. I am not a beta tester and I am currently awaiting my shipment of the essentials curriculum by the end of this week. I have to give and update in a couple of months. I can't seem to find the thread where it was discussed more in depth. Sorry! Edited December 15, 2011 by MyLittleBears

I can't seem to find the thread where it was discussed more in depth. Sorry! Maybe you can answer a question for me . . . is the Essentials curriculum that is currently being presold the same as the accelerated program that was being Beta tested? For some reason, I can't find the answer to this question over on the web site and can't find a way to contact the author.
MyLittleBears
Yes, I do believe they are the same but I think it would be a good idea to contact Denise Eide just for confirmation. Her email is info@pedialearning.com

asmall
Thanks for all the quick replies. I have been drooling over this curriculum, but am trying not to spend all my extra money on school! :DCan I get by without all the added items. I know it would be nice to have the flash cards, but can't I find the information that is on them in the book and make my own. Is this realistic? I don't want to drive myself crazy in doing this. But $18 and $15 seems pricey to me for flash cards. What do you think is the minimum, that you need to buy? Any help would be great. I was thinking the teacher's manual and maybe the Uncovering the Logic of English book. I also liked the look of the Phonogram and Spelling Game Book, my kids just love games. So what would you do? Thanks, AL

Thanks, AL Do you mean in addition to the essentials curriculum? If that is the case all you need is the phonogram cards. Although pricey, they are very sturdy and I did not find I even needed to laminate them, as I did with the SWR cards. I suppose you could make them yourself but having it already done for me saved me a headache. The game book is a really great addition (my dc really enjoy this part) but you could get away without having it or you can get it and just make your own game cards with a bit of cardstock. I found getting these cards is what drives the price up since you would need at least 2 sets. The Uncovering book gives you the background and is really great for teacher training but is not necessary, although I highly recommend it. I saw it a few weeks back on amazon for $13. I paid $20:glare:
asmall
Well I talked to my husband about it, and he said not to worry about how much I spend. He thought having all the supplies ready was worth the price, because I would avoid the headache of doing it myself. Sometimes, I just have to love that guy!:D AL
