AuntieM
I remember seeing here - in a thread I can't remember and so cannot identify in a search - that some of you recommended an off brand accessory for the Keurig. I would like to buy a self-loading, reusable cup, and I think there was a brand mentioned that some of you felt worked better than the one actually made by Keurig. Could someone please let me know the maker of that? Also, I need a new crock pot. Yes, I know the ruckus this question may cause! However, I have to leave the house a few times daily, my ovens are 40 years old and I do not feel comfortable leaving a Dutch oven in the oven while I am gone (this is how I slow cook when I am home all day). I would love to hear brand/model recommendations (but cannot afford the $250 one!!!). Did we ever determine if any brands are lead-free? I would like one that actually cooks low and slow, has a keep warm option, and travels without spilling. Reasonable price appreciated. Thanks! jenn-
This is the crock pot I use, Hamilton Beach. I have had several others and they cook too hot. This one I love though. No clue about the lead stuff.
Remudamom
There's one called Solofill on Amazon, but I don't know anything about it. We've got the brand name one and we like it.
AuntieM
Thanks for the link, jenn, that one looks nice. The last one I bought boiled food on the high setting, so I am looking for a genuinely lower-temp model. Remuda, thank you! I entered "solofill" in the search box and was able to find the original thread I was thinking of. Looks like I need to shop and compare the solofill with the ekobrew. Thanks for helping me find the trailhead on this one.
KS_
This is what I replaced my crock pot with - it's a "roaster" and not a crock pot (the removable liner isn't ceramic but metal), but it allows you to control the temperature from very low to 425F and is so much more versatile than a regular crock pot. http://www.amazon.com/Nesco-4816-12G-6-Quart-Porcelain-Cookwell/dp/B003I4F6NG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1323889484&sr=8-

It is not a "crock pot" but IS a slow cooker in addition to being a roaster.
