Guest zealth
I posted on this subject, less specifically, several months ago. I've been leading a class for homeschoolers titled U.S. Geography through Literature. Originally I thought I'd use the Barefoot curriculum, but ended up creating my own. We've done Tree in the Trail, Paddle-to-the-Sea, and will be starting Minn of the Mississippi shortly. I have been digging through websites, databases, and the minds of friends and librarians to try and find books that traverse the other regions of the country (e.g. Southwest, Northwest/West Coast, Southeast). My previous post inspired a couple of lists of state by state picture books, but what I am seeking is a short chapter book (think Holling), collection of short stories, or the like that has both a plot and a connection to place, ideally, places. Would LOVE some suggestions! gina
