Jeanne in MN
My friend and her family recently moved to western Nebraska for her husband's job. The schoosl there are horrible and my friend is wanting to supplement their education. She has an 8th grade daughter and twin 5th graders. I think she wants to supplement. I don't want to overwhelm her with suggestions, but do want to give her ideas and options: texts, on-line, software-like Switched On Schoolhouse or something. What math programs would have placement tests and be easy for someone to pick up and use. Perhaps with videos or computer lessons to make it easier for mom. Wanting to pick people's brains before I advise. So any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!
Unicorn.
Khan Academy is free, and has videos on everything math! Is she just looking for math supplementation? Saxon has free placement tests, and she can easily see what they need to work on.
