Scotch Thermal Laminator is Amazon's Deal of the Day

Recommended Posts

Yay! My dh just told me to buy one! Since I needed $25 to get the free shipping, I also bought some Xanthan gum to make vegan marshmallows for my dsd, who specifically asked for them yesterday.

Win all around! Well, except for dh's wallet, lol. :D

Thankfully I can get vegan marshmallows locally (I used to order them online), but I'd love to know which recipe you use! :) I don't care for marshmallows, but I think they'd be fun to make with the kids.

I know we can get vegan marshmalllows locally too, but I thought Dsd would appreciate the ability to make her own. :) And I'm intending to make a batch of these to give her.

What exactly do you all laminate? I can't think of a single thing I would use it for!

My kids have a geography assignment every week that they study and are tested on. Right now I either have to print 3 additional outline maps to use for the test or do the test orally and have them point to the location on my outline map. With this, I will laminate the outline map and and have them label it with a dry erase marker for the test.

We also have a weekly art print that we study and I'm thinking of laminating them before hanging them on the wall.

I laminate charts and checklists, calendars, flashcards, reference pages, maps, paper to make covers for comb bound books, bookmarks the boys make, etc.

You can use dry erase on laminated items, or you can use sharpies if you want the information to stay for any period of time (and you can use rubbing alcohol to get it off).

I ordered one the last time it was on sale like this, and I love it! It makes me feel like a "real" teacher when I sit down to laminate something! :)

I haven't used it a lot, yet, but it came in very handy at Thanksgiving, when I wanted to protect the woven construction paper placements we made in school. And we're also using it to laminate some jointed, paper Nutcracker ornaments we're making for Christmas. Oh, and it's also good for laminating Bingo cards, so you can just mark them with a dry erase marker, and use them over and over! I was also thinking of making bookmarks with the children, for them to give as gifts to their Sunday School teachers.

Seriously, it's very useful, and fun to have around!

Thank you. I bought it last year when it was the deal of the day, but I ended up giving it to me sister who is a public school teacher. Just ordered it again, this year I am keeping it! My dh said it would make a good gift for my ds9 to give me :D
