jillian
DD has been so resistant to learning to read. She has known her letter sounds for at least a year now consistently, and many of them longer than that. Anyway, she was always resistant to blending and sounding out words. No matter what I did lol. So I dropped it. Now a few weeks before she turns 4 she finally will blend and sound out and all that with me. Yay!!!! She's also got adding whole numbers (5 and 10 bases) to 100. Just introduced that lol.
boscopup
Woohoo! My son took off when I left him alone too. At that age, he taught himself a lot more than I ever could have. :tongue_smilie: He had known his letter sounds since age 2.5, but he didn't start reading (blending finally clicked) until 4.5.
