stripe
I've read it. It was...okay, but I think something like The Snow Queen is much more interesting. Or The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe, for that matter. The "I'm an outcast because my parents are divorced" theme did not ring true in these times, while entirely believable, say, when I was a kid. kwg
I really liked it; I had never heard of it before. I got the feeling she was an outcast more because she was imaginative but being adopted, new to the school, and having divorced parents wasn't helping. I thought the whole heroic journey to save a friend which ended up being saving herself was ....pat....but I liked how it brought it lots of different stories. We read the Little Match Girl but I doubt my ds remembers it so I might get it out of the library. Other than though I was pleased he was familiar with the other references.
