Jean in Newcastle
I have the music to Greensleeves. The first note (a pick-up note) is an A. The second note is a C. There is a G# and an F# at times but not at others. Is this in the key of C? Something else? The reason I'm asking is because ds wants to play along with me on his guitar and he can't figure out where to put his capo because his music starts with a D (pick up note) and then an A. Can anyone help us figure this out?
ElizabethB
I think A minor.
GingerPoppy
Yes, it is in A minor, specifically the melodic minor. If you're interested, I'd be happy to write out the chords for you.
Jean in Newcastle
Thank you. The beginner piano book I'm using doesn't have a key signature. Gingerpoppy, ds be playing it classical guitar style (by finger picking all the notes) so I don't think we need the chords.
