KarenNC
We are liking using xtramath as the timed practice portion of math to memorize math facts and I'd like to find something similar to use for other timed drill portions in Saxon---reducing/simplifying fractions and mixed numbers, measurement facts/conversions, operations with integers, fraction-decimal-percent equivalents. The aspects of xtramath I like and want to find for the others: online, reacts to the ones she misses by focusing on them more frequently, reports on progress. I don't need this to be in the form of a game with cute graphics, etc, as that hasn't worked as well in the past for us with multiplication facts. zoo_keeper
You may want to try out thatquiz.org. I *heart* it! I can monitor both of my older children's progress for free. Plus the depth and control you have is so much more than xtramath. The only downside is that it doesn't adapt to the child's answers. I.e., you assign the work, you choose what topics, what level, how long, if it's timed, etc. (there's so much to choose from) and you monitor the outcome (you can login whenever, but the program won't cycle back to missed problems on its own). Check it out!
Amy Jo
I'm going to have my son use Alcumus by Art of Problem Solving - it's not timed, but you can choose focus areas and it will track your mastery. Maybe more, I haven't done much configuring yet.
