Bloggermom
My son is currently working through CLE Learn to Read and CLE Language Arts 100. When would be a good time to start AAS 1? Should I wait until CLE LTR is completed?
3peasinapod
My son is currently working through CLE Learn to Read and CLE Language Arts 100. When would be a good time to start AAS 1? Should I wait until CLE LTR is completed? What is CLE LTR? I know what CLE is, but not LTR. :001_smile: I started AAS1 with DD in the middle of 1st grade, and we have done fine. We move more slowly through AAS than some, but it is fitting.
Bloggermom
CLE LTR is Learn To Read as found here - http://www.clp.org/store/by_subject/1 At the bottom of the page.
Lots of boys
We started at the beginning of 2nd and we flew through AAS 1 in about a month. We are now almost done AAS2. I think with my 2nd ds I will start him on AAS 1 at the beginning of first (or as soon as we get finished OPGTR).
MerryAtHope
Pretty much any time after they have started reading and writing can work out fine. I think it's helpful if they at least know basic letter formation, although you can use just the tiles for kids who are not yet writing. Here's an article on readiness from their FAQ.
