Osmosis Mom
for our first ever engagement party. It is going to be a somewhat intimate family party with just 10 friends of the boy and girl and then our families and younger kids in my house. It'll be formal wear, but I also need to serve food. I am thinking finger foods, buffet style, would do well considering there is no sitting space and we'll be in nice clothes. We'd like to have a small surprise aspect, but being non-creative, what would that be???! The boy will present the ring to the girl, but other than that it'll just be chatting and eating. Suggestions?
thescrappyhomeschooler
bump. I don't really have any ideas other than what you've said.
astrid
How much lead time do you have? Maybe a powerpoint/slide show of baby and childhood photos of the bride and groom? astrid
Osmosis Mom
Astrid, This is going to be an informal thing. There will be a much bigger party in the spring/early summer (for 200 people or so). I do dinners, but have not done a party -even small like this one. It'll be in a month's time. astrid
Well, hmm.....maybe a lovely toast? Or someone say a few word of encouragement and congratulations? Sounds like fun! Don't be nervous-- good food, good friends, a couple in love--- a surefire recipe for a lovely evening! astrid
