If you have a counter-top Brita filter (not attached to your tap, but a pitcher) and you change your carbon cartridge regularly, can you please answer the poll? Curious because mine is acting differently than my mom's across the country. TIA!

carbon pieces float in mine ALOT of the time..so I have to rinse it really well a couple times every few weeks! It's annoying! :p

I must be really dizzy. I have one of those filters. I change the filter on regular basis but I can't remember I ever paid attention to what the little carbon things do (blushes). :001_huh:

unless I rinse it really really well before I use it, carbon pieces float in my pitcher for the first 3-4 uses.

We are in coastal North Carolina, so practically sea level. When I fill the pitcher pieces of carbon do float in the basin where the water goes IN. The carbon never comes out in the drinking water though. I soak the filters really well before use (I think the directions say to soak them for 15 minutes) but I still get the little carbon flakes.

Before I vote, what do you mean by "float"? I just got up and checked mine, lol, and the carbon isn't literally FLOATING in the water, but there is a lot of loose carbon that comes up and immediately SINKS to the bottom of the upper compartment.
