If you have a Brita water filter pitcher...


I have a Brita pitcher with a good filter and

    • pieces of carbon float where I pour water in AND I live at an altitude of higher than 1,500 feet.

We are in coastal North Carolina, so practically sea level. When I fill the pitcher pieces of carbon do float in the basin where the water goes IN. The carbon never comes out in the drinking water though. I soak the filters really well before use (I think the directions say to soak them for 15 minutes) but I still get the little carbon flakes.
