Is anyone else completely done with gift shopping?

Are you done acquiring (buying, making, trading, scrounging) gifts for the holidays?

  1. 1. Are you done acquiring (buying, making, trading, scrounging) gifts for the holidays?

    • Not a single gift left to acquire at all!
    • Done with the shopping, still have to make stuff.
    • Mostly the gift-getting is done but fewer than three things left to buy or make.
    • Nope, still working on finding, buying, making or otherwise acquiring gifts.

I didn't strive to be done before Thanksgiving, but I'm really glad I am. This is the first year I bought every gift in a store from a major manufacturer, too. That made it easier. Next year I hope to go back to etsy but I'll still try to get it over with early on.

Wow, I can't believe so many of us have finished shopping! I still have most of it to do. :(

Oh, I see the poll shows that more of us still need to finish shopping. I think after reading through several threads about Christmas shopping, it only seems that everyone but me is done!

You're in good company! You and I still have the JOY of shopping DURING the season instead of getting it all done before the season even starts!

(Just trying to make her feel better, everybody! Please, no lectures on how there's more joy DURING the season if you finish your shopping early. She and I need to have something to cling to. :D)

I am completely done shopping. I'm not a big fan of shopping to begin with, but I especially hate it when the stores are crowded at the holidays. I try to get everything done by Thanksgiving, so that I can spend my time on holiday things I do enjoy: cutting down a tree, decorating, baking cookies, caroling, etc.

If you finish too early, you miss all the great Amazon toy deals in December. B&N is offering 50% off one toy on BF (online too). I love cyber shopping in my pjs while drinking peppermint hot chocolate.

I am mostly done. I have a few things left to get, like the live snake my ds8 is getting. A friend of ours is keeping it at his house for us, but I want to wait a few weeks still. I don't want to burden him with an overly long snake-sitting job.

I also have edible stocking stuffers to buy and a little something for dh. Oh, and we draw names tomorrow for my family-so I'll have that gift to buy. Hard to buy ahead when you don't know who you'll get. :)

I'll be clinging, too. :tongue_smilie:

I used to be one of those who got all or at least most of my gift gathering done early. But as the kids get older I seem to put it off longer and longer. I have about half my Christmas knitting done, but I'm doing small projects (ankle socks) so it should go fairly quickly. I did get a good start on stocking stuffers over the summer, though.
