The Teachers Lodge 11-22-2011

Recommended Posts

Welcome to Tuesday at the Lodge!

Note: after today, the Lodge will be closed until after Thanksgiving.

What's for lunch/breakfast? I have no clue as to either one. However, when I run out to make copies for dd's Biology test I will be definitely enjoying a Starbucks drink of some sort!

Are you ready for this week yet? I know it's Tuesday but I'm just not "ready" for pushing the kids to do their schoolwork and getting attitude for it!

Who wants to avoid all responsibility and go see a movie and/or shop with me this afternoon??:D

Talk to me! :bigear:

Good morning!

I didn't eat breakfast today - d'oh! I just realized. I haven't been feeling well for a week now, so not that hungry.

I'm doing school light this week - since we missed 3 days last week, we are just sort of making up what we missed - but only the essentials. I'd originally planned to take this whole week off. So...yeah, I'm not ready for this week but I just don't care that much. What movie are we going to see? :D

I'm heading to the store now to get some essentials (uh, bread and cheese) and some things for Thanksgiving (going to my sister's but I'm bringing the green bean casserole, the stuffing and the apple pie...and maybe some bourbon cream cheese brownies, because they sound awesome).

Have a good day!

Good Morning.

Breakfast this morning was granola with Greek yogurt - surprised? I seriously have the same thing everyday, unless I run out and don't feel like making more.

Lunch will be leftover spaghetti. I made an awesome sauce yesterday.

We're doing normal school again today. Tomorrow we're doing normal school, plus cooking the pumpkins and making pies.

I'd love to avoid responsibility and go to a movie, but my boss and the other half of my team is off this week so I am working solo this week. I think it is terrific since I take off the week between Christmas and New Years. I'd much rather take that week off than this one.

I can go to the movies on Friday. What shall we see?

ACKK!! No LODGE? But who will I vent to in the midst of the holiday craziness? Who will be here to commiserate if my in-laws start to get on my nerves?

What's for lunch/breakfast? The kids had waffles and clementines for breakfast. I had the other half of my stromboli from last night's dinner. It was filled with spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions & mozzarella. Delish! Lunch will be sandwiches and salad.

Are you ready for this week yet? I'm as ready as I'm going to be! The house is clean. The guests will be here any moment. The first turkey is in the oven (I'm roasting it for our church's Thanksgiving ministry that provides hot, holiday meals to people in the community. We're planning to eat out tonight (to give me a break from cooking). Tomorrow we're hoping to go to the movies. We'll probably see the Muppets. Tomorrow evening, I'll start baking pies.

Our breakfast wound up being from Wendy's this morning since it was right next to the copy store. ;) However, when I actually my "Artisan" bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit out of the sack (at home) I decided there's no way I'll pay $2.39 each for those again! It was about the size of a medium sized dinner roll, only with the texture of Ciabatta bread. I can make a better breakfast sandwich!

Athena, I don't really want to see the new muppet movie but my daughter does. Can I send her with you? :D

Karen, you pick the movie. I don't want to have to make any decisions right now.

Melissa, Karen's in charge of picking out the movie. :)

Jenn, I'm sure there may be other "Lodge regulars" checking in on occasion throughout the week.

Here are the keys (**dropping into your hand**). Feel free to be in charge of the Lodge until next Monday. :D

Happy Tuesday!

Breakfast - 2 eggs, 1 slice Dave's killer bread, water

Lunch - most likely a salad with protein

Ready for the week - We did normal school yesterday and the plan is for normal school today. I don't have to do much of anything for Thanksgiving - just bring drinks and an appetizer. BUT - last night and this morning I've had the tell-tale stabs of pain in my chest that tell of a returning bout of pericarditis. (Sigh). I have to make getting better my highest priority because I really, really don't want to end up in the ER again this November.

I'm really looking forward to the new Sherlock Holmes movie but it's not out until December.

I got the last piece of breakfast casserole today. French onion soup for my lunch.

Kids are sick - strep and something viral too...ugh! - and so not very hungry.

Movies and quiet play here today, after a morning trip to the ped.

Online shopping this afternoon when they are resting.

We may be going to see my cousin and his kids on Thanksgiving! Yay!

Haven't seen them in over a year and now that they are in the same state and just

a few hours away, I've been looking for an excuse to go down there (along with an invitation. ;) )

Plus, his wife is expecting their seventh child!:001_huh:

Better them than me! :D

Breakfast/ lunch: breakfast- Cookie Crisp Cereal; lupper - chili

Ready for the week: physically? Yes; food is bought and ready to be prepared (as long as this bird thaws in time) and the kids have been really helpful about cleaning. Emotionally? Not a bit; we have to have our dog put down this afternoon

Movies: bring it on! I'll bring the popcorn. I'm not sure that I'm cut out for this whole "responsible adult" thing.

What's for lunch/breakfast? Breakfast was banana bread. Lunch is/was (still eating it) quinoa and spinach salad.

Are you ready for this week yet? No. Not at all. Not even a little bit. Can we change Thanksgiving to next week?

Who wants to avoid all responsibility and go see a movie and/or shop with me this afternoon??:D ME!!!!! I don't want to have to start cleaning and I only have 48 hours to get it done. Actually, we'll probably go see Hugo as soon as it comes out, we read the book it was based on and Ariel can't wait to see the movie based on the book.
