AlmiraGulch
I iron nearly every day, but something is wrong with my iron. It's not gliding over the fabric like it's supposed to all of a sudden. It's "sticking," almost as if I have it on the wrong fabric setting when I don't. It does look like there may be some sort of film on the metal plate, so I'm thinking that could be it. I have no idea what it is, where it could have come from, or the best way to get rid of it. Water didn't, and I'm afraid to use chemicals because I don't want any residue. Would a white vinegar solution maybe take care of it? Something else? I really don't want to buy a new iron for something that's probably very simple to take care of if I only knew how. Help!
*Lulu*
Do you use tap water or distilled in the iron?
Mrs Mungo
You need to clean the soleplate. You can buy special cleaner at most big box stores. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LNRMH0/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B005C377XI&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1FWHW3K8S21YFXGADBDJ

I'll go that route. Thanks!
