Moxie
I want to get DD 2 some play silks for Christmas. Holy cow, those things are expensive! I want a larger size (some were only 11x11 and I don't think she could wrap that around herself) and several colors. Any good quality, not so expensive, sources?? redsquirrel
I bought mine blank and dyed them myself using Koolaid. It was dead easy. You can buy them at Dharma Trading. Get them soon because they might run out before christmas. I bought a bunch in standard and other sizes. Make sure to get some handkerchief size for doll blankets etc. I did this... maybe 9 years ago with their cheapest silk and we still have them. They have held up to the most amazing level of play. They dye process is really easy. You wash the scarves and then briefly soak them in a strong koolaid solution (unsweetened) and then put them in ziplock bags and microwave them to make the dye set. There is more to it and you should look it up, but it was actually very easy. Warning! Once you do this and see how easy it is, you will be tempted to give them as gifts to everyone you know.
