Firestar Academy
can hand lotion/ body lotion ever expire? how would you know if it did. is there a date on it? I think you could tell if it is opened but I have a lot. I want to donate it for the holidays but some of it is older. also, what about perfume/cologne? I have a lot of that, too. Thanks Robin
StephanieZ
It can get rancid. The smells can change. Personally, if it is over 3 years old, I would pitch it for sure. Younger than that, I'd just pitch it if it smells or looks funky.
fairfarmhand
It can separate or smell weird. I go by how it looks.
Kareni
I can attest that body wash can expire. My husband gave me some for Christmas that smelled slightly chemical. When I contacted the company and gave them the code on the bottle, they told me it was over five years old and had expired the previous month. They kindly sent me a coupon to buy a replacement. Regards, Kareni
AHASRADA
There should be a date on it. I actually bought some expensive "all natural" lotion for my baby, but when I opened it, it smelled off. I checked the label, and it had expired several months before, so I returned it. Personally, I would go by the smell, but if I were going to donate it, I would check the date first.
