BatmansWife
After 30 years the Natalie Wood case will be reinvestigated. All I can say is......"It's about time." I've always had a feeling that Robert Wagner was responsible and got away with it. I've suspected that Walkin knows more than he claims to know too. Here's a link. gardenmom5
also keep in mind, the captain has changed his story multiple times over th years and they are reopening the case based partly on his statments. the captain has also been shopping a book deal - for years - and has made many "interviews" with tabloids over the years. whether it's credible or not remains to be seen. the fact this is happening around the 30th anniversary of her death and the captain just published a book he "cowrote" sounds awfully convienent PR for his book sales. Annie G
I was only 20 at the time of her death but I clearly remember thinking that the official story didn't sound plausible. Yeah, the book is 2 years old, but I'm sure sales today are at a record high. Maybe he's lying, maybe he's not.
OLG
This always seemed suspect to me as well. Will be interesting to see what comes of it.
BatmansWife
Yeah....who knows if he's lying now. He could be out for money. The video interview was interesting (at the link). He said he "made terrible decisions and mistakes". He admitted he "lied and made mistakes by not telling the honest truth". He said, "Wagner did not do everything he should have". When asked, "is he (Wagner) responsible for her death?" He said, "yes". He claims he's "not interested in profit but in justice." (who knows??) The interview went on to talk about the fight that broke out between Wagner and Natalie....it started inside and went out to the back deck of the boat. Davern (the captain) went to break it up and Wagner told him to go away. "Minutes later she's missing". Davern wanted to turn on the search light and make a call for help, but Wagner "asked him not to." He said, "We didn't take any steps to see if we could locate her." This was never reported to the police. He said they (Wagner, Walkin, and himself) all had their story (as in......they had a story they all would stick to). The story was that she tried to get in a dingy and got knocked out. I never could believe this because she was so terribly afraid of water. I'm surprised she was on a boat in the first place. I hope that the new investigation will lead to the truth....whatever it is.
Rebecca VA
I remember when that happened. It seemed suspicious at the time, and I'm surprised there wasn't a more intense investigation on her death. I've been seeing photos of Natalie Wood in recent articles. She looks so *ordinary* by today's standards. I see women who look like her -- or better -- every day of the week and don't think anything of it. I think standards of beauty must have gone way, way up in the past 30 years.

LizzyBee
I've always wondered if Robert Wagner was responsible for her death and got away with it. OTOH, if he's innocent, this must be very painful for him.

I think she was gorgeous! To me, a lot of the newer Hollywood types all look the same...lots of bleached hair and Botox. I think she had a very distinctive look that set her apart from everyone else. Also, she was such a cute little girl and a wonderful actress in Miracle on 34th Street.
Myeightkiddies
I always thought it was foul play and felt it was a great injustice to be closed as it was. I'm glad. I only hope that the truth is revealed.
TravelingChris
I also looked at the pictures and thought that the standard of beauty has gone the wrong way. I thought she was very beautiful and too many actresses nowadays look remarkable the same.
