Do ipods go on sale after Thanksgiving?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if there were sales on ipods, etc. or if the prices are set so they really never go on sale? How about getting "free" stuff extra when you buy one on black Friday?

Wanting to get 16dd an ipod touch (likely 32gb) for Christmas but obviously want a good deal.

On the flip side, are any of the other (and much cheaper brands like Sony) ones worth looking at? The one she has right now was a $15 one off WOOT with no screen, etc. so anything will be a huge upgrade. Right now she has about 50 songs on it and that is it.

I like the idea of adding video IF we can just do that with DVDs we have here. I don't want to have to BUY BUY BUY more stuff. Is the ipod easy to add songs to that you already own on CD or digital form?

Don't forget to use the educator's discount at Apple. :) I can't remember if it applies to iPods, but I think it does.

We use it for all of our Apple purchases, and it's a help.

For extras... buying from someplace like Costco might be an idea. They tend to bundle things so you get some extra goodies. Not sure if they sell iPods, but worth a shot.

They don't go on sale unless there is a new version coming and they are basically getting clearanced. That is why stores often offer gift cards and other freebies with them. It is the only way the store can put them "on sale" without making Apple mad by lowering the actual price. So no, you won't find them on sale, but your best bet would be to get one at a store that is offering a gift card or something else you might use with purchase.
