Speaking of bacon

Recommended Posts

The meat processor says our pork is ready. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. We didn't actually get any bacon - our piggy was too lean from all that free-ranging :tongue_smilie: - but we should have plenty of sausage, pork chops, and roasts. I can't wait to try it!

So far we have cooked a pork roast and some sausage. Oh my, it is delicious! We were afraid it might be a little gamey since we let her free range and fed her mostly produce, but it wasn't. The sausage in particular is :drool5:. We are currently discussing breeds for next year - we'll be getting two piglets after the New Year.

Did you get sausage balls? Cuz people keep talking about them in the other thread. Where exactly are the balls on the sausage?
