JFSinIL
OK, I placed an order the morning of the 16th, all three items were available, and initially Friday was to be my day to get the goodies. Now Amazon still lists the items as available, and ordered with Prime two-day shipping, ah, shipping! The day I am to get the box is now listed as the 21st...and they have not yet been shipped! So Amazon prime free two-day shipping only means that when they eventually ship an order, you will get it in two days. Gotcha. Just checked - still not shipped. An order I placed this morning is listed as arriving here on the 19th! So the item I ordered a day after the first order will get here before it. Roadrunner
It will come in two days after placing an order. I just signed up for a trial and ordered several things. My very first order was delayed at the post office, so it wasn't Amazon's fault. The rest came in on time (2 business days).

I ordered three dvds , all in stock, on Wednesday morning with my Amazon Prime for two-day shipping and they haven't even been shipped yet. Amazon now says I will get them Monday. How is Monday two-days after Wednesday???
Lady Florida.
That's unusual. We've had Prime for 3 years now and 2 day shipping has always meant we get our item 2 days after we order it. We have quite a few friends with Prime too, and I've never heard about problems from them. Sometimes it depends on the time of day - if I order something Tuesday late afternoon, then Tuesday doesn't count - but always 2 days. There was one item we ordered that showed almost a week later as the delivery date (yes, it was Prime eligible). It wasn't something I needed right away, so I was planning to wait until it arrived, then complain to Amazon. It ended up being delivered in 2 days anyway so I don't know why it was showing a later date. If your item doesn't come, I'd definitely contact them. It's understandable that sometimes things happen, an item is unexpectedly out of stock or whatever, but if it becomes a pattern it needs to be addressed. bbkaren
Most things ship the same day, but yes, some don't ship until the next day. I guess it depends on what time the order is placed. There are times I've purchased using Prime, via a third party through Amazon and I think it has been a couple days before I've gotten notification it's been shipped. But for things ordered directly through Amazon, I don't recall waiting more than 3 days from date of order.
KS_
I've had a few things that's happened with - for some reason even though they say Prime Eligible, they don't ship right away. Thankfully, it's never been one of the items I've actually needed in 2 days.

I've never had a prime orders (assuming all items WERE prime offers) take more than two days.
VaKim
Certain things will have a little note on them somewhere under the price info stating that it "usually ships in x days," or something to that effect. For whatever reason, not everything is able to be shipped right away. Even orders that are Prime eligible.

I just look at those purchases as free shipping instead of 2 day shipping.
oldskool
My prime orders have not been coming as fast as they used to. Not sure why. Lesley
QuirkyKapers
I had never had any problem getting them within two days with prime. I would complain to amazon. They usually try and work something out if I am unhappy.
FiveOaksAcademy
Well, I ordered about 5 or 6 books last Wednesday then another 4 books the next day. They didn't come until yesterday afternoon. They were all in stock. I used to order things from Amazon, and if the items were in stock, they would ship within 24 hours. I was a little frustrated. It's my first time to have this experience with them, and here others are having the same issue.
Blueridge
I am wondering if they are giving all those Kindle Fire boxes priority over the rest of the orders they are receiving.
lisabees
I have noticed that my last two orders came via USPS. That might be a big problem...
Mothersweets
I ordered some maple syrup with 2 day shipping and waited....and waited...and waited. I finally emailed Amazon and they responded right away and sent me another bottle of maple syrup. They figured the first shipment had gotten lost in transit. Email Amazon and tell them you haven't gotten your order. I'm sure they'll send out another one for you.
Tranquility7
Yes, Amazon shipping has definitely gotten slower in recent months. Not just the shipping itself (going through USPS, or a combo of FedEx/USPS) but also the fulfillment. I am simply complaining to Amazon when things take too long, and eventually I'll probably just switch to bn.com if it doesn't get straightened out. I think they are probably just experimenting with fulfillment and shipping methods, and it is good for them to hear from customers what is working and what is not. majikmommie
This has happened to me several times recently! I never called about it because I didn't really need the items by a specific date.
QueenCat
I've ordered quite a bit lately, and not had any problems. I wonder if some regions are having more issues than others.
Samiam
I've noticed that the last year or so. It's not the shipping itself...once it gets shipped, it moves....it's the getting out of the warehouse, to actually get shipped that is taking forever. My most recent order, 1. everything was in stock. 2 everything was coming directly from Amazon, not third-party...didn't leave Amazon for one week. This is not the first time that has happened. Granted that's not Prime shipping,*that's regular free shipping...but on the other hand....I don't think I've ever encountered another online retailer that routinely does not fulfill orders for a week or so after being ordered (unless that's their normal routine, like Zulily.com and Totsy.com, both of whom I normally refrain from ordering from, because of their slow fulfillment but they also clearly show you during the order that it will not ship for 3 weeks.) I get standard/free shipping takes longer, but FULFILLMENT of the order should not be taking this long. Okay, it's not enough for me to divorce Amazon, quite yet...but I do think perhaps they've gotten too big for their britches. And why they insist in using USPS...beyond me. They actually sent me a $200 iPod touch via the USPS. It arrived fine, but do you know what a massive PITA it is to file a claim with the USPS is...god forbid one should have to. ondreeuh
I moved to Alaska a few months ago, and counted on getting most of my groceries and things through Amazon. Even though I have Prime, they don't honor Prime in AK. Even worse, they use a different shipping company to send their packages to AK and HI. My packages routinely sit in a warehouse in Anchorage for 3 weeks before they finally send them out through the USPS. It can be very frustrating, and I am jealous that you get your stuff in a week! We should finally get mail tomorrow for the first time in 9 days.
JFSinIL
OK, guess what? While the site still said I'd get the dvds on the 21st until late yesterday afternoon - last evening they changed it to TODAY and they did over night shipping.....with Ensenda. So I have to watch out for a strange small car showing up on our street sometime today (and they spend more on over night shipping than if they had moved the items out of the warehouse in a more timely fashion.) ProudGrandma
I placed an order several days ago (using Amazon Prime 2-day shipping) and realized they weren't here yet, so I went ot check on the status and they hadn't even been shipped yet....I couldn't beleive it. SO I went on the Live Chat with someone on amazon and found out it was becasue I had used my PO Box number instead of a street address...and since UPS doesn't deleiver to the post office, their only choice was to sent it USPS and then they can't guarantee it will be there in 2 days. THe nice guy on the other end change my address to a physical street address and even gave me one day shipping (but becasue it is Friday, it won't be here until MOnday)...that is still better than a week or more as it was stating. Hope that helps someone else....I know I won't be making that same mistake again.
