Excelsior! Academy
A couple from our congregation recently moved to an assisted living center. They asked us if our dc would sing at the center during their Christmas program. Our dc have sung at an annual talent show, so I thought no big deal. Well, the director called today to ask our program's length and our general fee. Apparently this is more than just kids singing at the nursing home. The program needs to be about 15 minutes in length. They can sing basic songs in Latin like Adeste Fidelus. Dh suggested copying a vaudeville program we saw a couple of Christmases ago, with Christmas songs interspersed with a funny song or skit. What would you do? mamakimberly
You could always offer to do it free... I personally wouldn't expect/want $ for doing something at a nursing home. But kudos to your kids for having talent that was recognized by others!

I would sing a Latin song or two, along with traditional Christmas favorites. I wouldn't do any songs or skits---some of the people at the nursing home would probably not be able to hear and/or understand the words. I'd stick with singing, since that's what they're known for and were asked to do by the couple you know :001_smile:.
Cera
I would stick with singing and would offer to perform for free (great community service for your kids and a resume builder).
