CatMomof3
I would like my Girl Scouts to make pumpkin pies for our church's food drive. Can they make them a week in advance? If they have to be frozen, what is the best to defrost them? I was thinking about using the Libby recipe, what do you all think? Thank you all in advance... cjzimmer1
I've frozen fruit pies before but I'm not sure I'd risk it with pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie is more like a custard and I would expect that it might separate after thawing. Also I would think that if it was already baked the crust would get soggy because it's such a moist filling.

gardenmom5
I just purchased a frozen pumpkin pie from a commercial supplier to be given away. bake it, cool, then freeze it. all that needs to be done is thawing and the instructions on the box were allow eight - ten hours before serving.
